SCARBOROUGH, MAINE - The first of what the Flaherty for Scarborough Campaign hopes will be many important endorsements was announced today as the Maine Education Association (MEA) and the National Education Association (NEA) have endorsed Flaherty’s bid for Maine House of Representatives.

As one of the largest groups within the state, representing nearly all Maine teachers, the MEA is one of the single most important endorsements that a candidate can receive.

“I’m thrilled that the MEA, who works tirelessly to support schools and students in our State, shares my vision for education in Maine,” Flaherty said. “This was an important endorsement not only politically, but also personally. My grandfather, who as one of my biggest influences growing up, was a long time High School history teacher and Principal in the Portland Area. Education has always been a priority of mine, as a student and now as a candidate. It will continue to be when I have a privilege to represent Scarborough in Maine Legislature,” Flaherty added.
