Scarborough Remains Unbeaten in the Pool
SANFORD, MAINE - The Scarborough High School Swimming and Diving Teams continue to march toward the State Championships in February as they transition to the second half of the season. With big wins over the Massabessic Mustangs Friday evening, Scarborough Boys improved to (8-0) while the Girls (7-0) also remained undefeated.
Individual victories were earned by Laura Flewelling (200 Free), Sam Couillard (200 Individual Medley, 100 Breast), Dayna Ankermann (50 Free, 100 Free), Colleen L’Heureux (100 Fly), Maya Glab (500 Free), Anna Wagner (100 Backstroke), Kip Gravel (200 Free, 50 Free), Robby Gravel (200 IM, 500 Free), Mark Endrizzi (100 Free), Adam Saltz (100 Back). Scarborough also took home wins in 5 of 6 Relays on the night.
“I think it’s clear that Scarborough is going to make a run at both (Boy’s and Girl’s Swimming) State Championship Meets this year,” Head Coach Sean Flaherty said. “We are truly firing on all cylinders right now and as Tim Kipp, who was my coach in High School, used to say, ‘we are right where we want to be.’ ”
Scarborough will face Biddeford and McAuley this Friday at the Biddeford YMCA before heading to the South Western Conference Championships on the 29th and 30th of January.
