1. Scarborough
With a new coach (former Red Storm standout Sean Flaherty, the 2003 Maine Sunday Telegram MVP) and a raft of club swimmers (Arthur Hamill and the Gravel brothers, Robby, Kip and Jerry) joining veterans Mark Endrizzi, Adam Saltz, Jack Clark and Martin Schelasin, Scarborough has the depth and talent to challenge defending champ Bangor for the Class A title.

2. Cheverus
Despite significant graduation losses, the Stags once again will contend for the Class A crown with a well-rounded team that includes freshmen Trebor Lawton and Reed Fernandez; sophomores Cal Rohde, Drew Fernandez and Lukas Temple; junior Stephen Ambrose; and seniors Cameron Lindsley, Mark Dumond and Chris Giordano, a transfer from Massabesic.

3. Greely
A determined senior class is aiming to end the six-year, state-title run of Mt. Desert Island. Seniors John Madeira, Patrick Bowden and Kyle Wilson combine with junior Ian Mecray and sophomore Dan Spencer for a strong core.

4. Cape Elizabeth
Standout sophomore Marcus Cloutier and promising freshman Evan Long bolster a veteran team that includes seniors Zach Gavin and Chris Makrides and junior Paul Wennberg. Diving will be a plus with sophomore Kevin Flathers.

5. Deering
After placing fourth in Class A, the Rams will rely on a large senior class that includes Djordje Mandic, Max Hudson, Zach Sawyer, Jacob Powers and Noah Major, as well as defending state diving champ Brian McRae.

1. Falmouth
With five Class B titles over the past six years, Falmouth remains the team to beat, despite significant graduation losses. Among those looking to carry on the winning tradition are seniors Adrianne Madden, Sarah Uminski and Hayley Couper, along with junior Courtney Greenwood and sophomore divers Evelyn Perry and Nicola Mancini.

2. Greely
A strong freshman class will bolster a Greely squad that was runner-up to Falmouth last winter. Among the veterans who will be counted on for points and leadership are seniors Taylor Roach, Lizziy Perry, Franny Martelle and Emily Norton, juniors Megan Stroud and Jackie Andrews and sophomore Sara Schad.

3. Scarborough
Junior Laura Flewelling, who is ranked nationally in the breast stroke, joins an already potent squad that includes junior Maya Glab and sophomores Dayna Ankermann and Samantha Couillard. Expect the Red Storm to compete for the Class A crown.

4. Morse
Nearly everyone is back from the team that finished second to Cape Elizabeth in Class A last winter. Senior Becca Bonnett and junior Emily Buczkowski lead the way.

5. Cheverus
A quartet of talented freshman girls — Maria Cianchette, Tess Lindsley, Samantha Savaun and Nichole Chambers – join junior Katherine Moreshead to propel Cheverus into the Class A championship picture.
